St Michael’s Bath, also known as St Michael’s Without, is a church with a history dating back to Saxon times. It has had four buildings on the site, with the current church completed in 1837 by George Phillips Manners. The church is a prominent landmark with a tower and spire, and was fortunate to survive the Second World War, with its crypt used as an air-raid shelter. After a major reordering in 2006/7, it now serves as a flexible space for services and community projects, with a café and other facilities.
