6th Form Philosophy (1) – Me, Myself & I
30 April @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
What does it mean to be self-aware? When I become aware of myself, what exactly am I becoming aware of? And when, if ever, is this a good thing?
In the first seminar of BRLSI’s 6th Form Philosophy Value of Self Awareness series, they will introduce ourselves to the philosophy of metacognition (literally, ‘thinking about thinking’) and explore some scientific answers to the problems of self-awareness.
You’ll work out what you want out of this course and which problems interest you the most, running through a whistle-stop tour of the history of self-awareness and beginning to think about how our individual lives form a part of the human story.
A series of free seminars for sixth formers, using philosophy to explore one of the fundamental questions of life: What is self-awareness and what am I supposed to do with it?
