6th Form Philosophy (2) – Ourselves Among Others
7 May @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Can I be self-aware without other people? How should I feel about the influence of other people on me? What about the influence of technology?
This week, in the second seminar of our series on The Value of Self-Awareness, we’ll zoom out from the individual perspective and start thinking about how self-awareness interacts with group decision-making. We’ll talk about the idea that other people and technologies influence the way you think about yourself, and work out what this means for our lives. Building on the problems we identified last week, we’ll explore the limitation and opportunities created by thinking with other people.
A series of free seminars for sixth formers, using philosophy to explore one of the fundamental questions of life: What is self-awareness and what am I supposed to do with it?
