6th Form Philosophy (3) – The Networked Self
14 May @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
What role does my self-awareness play in the life of the human species? Is self-awareness something I am in control of? Is anything else self-aware?
Concluding the first half of our course on The Value of Self-Awareness, we’ll zoom out again to think about how self-awareness interacts with population-level patterns in human culture and beyond. Looking at the evolutionary trajectory of our species alongside technology and the wider biosphere, we will explore the relationship between your individual self-awareness and the place you occupy in the natural world. We’ll end this week by reflecting back on our original problems and building a roadmap for applying them to practical matters in the second half of the course.
