An Actor Convalescing in Devon

An Actor Convalescing in Devon

A funny and compelling play, specially written for Paul Jesson by the multi award-winning playwright Richard Nelson.

An actor takes a train to the West Country to spend a weekend with a friend who lives there. Glad to be alive but unsure of his future, he shares stories and his thoughts about Shakespeare, friends, his career and the challenges of his own health.

He told me about some bloke who wasn’t well and then got better by placing a poem by William Blake in his shirt pocket …
