LEARN: The Science of Resilience
Resilience can protect us from the negative effects of stress, and help us regain a sense of control in our lives.
In this talk, Coach and Psychologist Heather Parker will draw on the scientific research around resilience to uncover what it really means, and practical ways we can build it.
Settle in with a hot drink to explore the elements of a resilient mindset, and take away tools that can help you build resilience for the long term.
There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions as part of the session, and one-to-one afterwards.
PLAY: Mindful Juggling Workshop
Put your learnings from the talk straight into practice, through the challenge of learning to juggle. Yes, you read that right! Luke will guide you through a variety of group and individual exercises designed to teach the fundamentals of 3-ball juggling.
Are you already worrying about getting it ‘wrong’ or embarrassing yourself? Then this might be the perfect session for you.
Using play, movement, and reflective practice, you’ll be encouraged to try something new and let go of the idea of needing to be ‘good’ straight away. There will be time to recognise your own self-talk and reframe unhelpful thoughts when stepping outside of your comfort zone. You will also look at the comparison between yourselves and others and how the “inner critic” can either support or hinder our progress.
EAT: Nourishing South Indian Inspired Food
Conclude your time with Life Juggling by nourishing yourself with some delicious South Indian inspired food, provided by Lungi Babas. This is an opportunity to pause, reflect and connect, as you enjoy Mahesh’s home cooked food made from scratch with a story.
