David Copperfield – Community Play
26 January @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
You are invited to join in the adventure and be part of this exhilarating production on the main house stage, bringing visually stunning scenes to life from fantastic kite flying to thrilling storms and shipwrecks.
Wonderfully endearing, the David Copperfield story represents the universal quest for happiness, belonging and love. Encompassing a world of characters across class, place and relationships, David Copperfield resonates just as much today as it did in Dickens’ Victorian England.
The theatre would like to invite local people with an interest in acting, singing or dancing to join us. No experience necessary – they are looking for open and enthusiastic people. If you would like to work with a professional Creative team and perform on the beautiful Theatre Royal stage – now is your chance. Everyone is welcome!
This brand new version will be written by Mike Akers, and devised and directed by Sally Cookson.
Mike Akers has worked regularly as dramaturg with renowned director Sally Cookson on shows including Boing! and a trio of highly successful Bristol Old Vic productions: Treasure Island, Peter Pan and Jane Eyre.
