Designing tomorrow’s manufacturing for a sustainable, fossil free future
10 June @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Manufacturing is the biggest hurdle to tackling climate change, according to Bill Gates.
The construction of steel, cement, chemicals and other products is essential to building new homes, infrastructure and medicine but presents a huge problem for carbon emissions. But how can we address these problems while still creating the products we need for everyday life?
Join Professor Matthew Davidson and Dr Stephen Allen, who will discuss how research at the University of Bath is contributing to a fossil free future for manufacturing.
Prof. Matthew Davidson will talk about the challenges of green carbon including what sustainability means for manufacturing and why we need a transition to fossil-free manufacturing. Dr. Stephen Allen will then explore how we determine whether new manufacturing approaches are any more sustainable than their predecessors.
