Introduction to Nordic Walking
3 February @ 2:30 pm – 3:15 pm
Nordic Walking Location: Meet at Sydney Gardens car park
Duration: 45 minutes
A 45 minute Nordic Walking session that will help you understand just how beneficial Nordic Walking can be and how it is far more than just walking with poles!
Get a taste of how light you will feel on your feet, how the whole body is mobilised and why you need to take the time to learn the technique of Nordic Walking.
Meet at the Sydney Gardens car park, there will be a short walk to the Gardeners Lodge garden for the activity to start. Poles will be provided and there is a cafe on site for some welcome refreshments afterwards.
Storme Milton, who runs the sessions, says, ‘I absolutely love introducing people to Nordic Walking and teaching the technique as it is fun, super easy to learn and gives instant results. I provide poles for them to learn too. It’s great for fitness and helps you stay aligned and balanced. It turns your walk into a workout depending on the level of course. After you have learned the technique you are then in a position to get your own set of poles. Alternatively for your first few group walks you may prefer to borrow mine and try the different types of poles available and choose which type suits you best before buying your own. I firmly believe we can stay younger and healthier for longer with Nordic Walking and Pilates combo – difficult to beat. As a Pilates teacher I am passionate about functional movement to help remain injury free. Also as a regular mountain biker, runner and dog walker I have been exploring our gorgeous city and surrounding areas for quite some time and never stop marvelling at our stunning views both urban and country.’
