Jody Prewett Live in Session at the Electric Bar
8 December @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Jody Prewet is a Bath-based guitarist and songwriter. As the former lead singer and guitarist of the beloved band Trophy Wife, Jody’s pedigree is unquestionable. He also played a significant role in Jonquil and had a brief stint with math rock pioneers TTNG. His early musical ventures included regular performances at iconic London venues such as The Borderline and Dingwalls while still in school.
During his university years, Jody explored post and math rock before achieving mainstream success with Trophy Wife. The band’s single “Microlite,” released on Moshi Moshi Records, became a hit, leading to extensive touring and high-profile festival appearances alongside acts like Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, and Two Door Cinema Club, and even opening for Ed Sheeran in Paris.
After this whirlwind of success, Jody took a step back from the music industry to focus on music education, a field he continues to work in today. However, his passion for creating music never waned. His recent album of nature-inspired guitar instrumentals, “Trails,” showcased his distinctive brand of cinematic folk, and “River Songs” builds upon this foundation.
