Latin Escapades comes to life in a spectacular orchestral performance from The Fulltone Orchestra

The Fulltone Orchestra return to Bath Forum on 26 April with Latin Escapades – a night where classical meets jazz, Latin rhythms, and cinematic flair, featuring some of the 20th century’s most captivating compositions.
Under the masterful baton of Anthony Brown, The Fulltone Orchestra and their 65 strong orchestra brings together exceptional talent for a concert that promises to dazzle and delight.
At the heart of The Fulltone Orchestra, is an aim to bring outstanding music to as wide an audience as possible. For Latin Escapades, the company have reduced prices to just £25 a ticket to enable the concerts to be more accessible to a wider range of audiences.
The evening opens with George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, a vibrant and rhythmic celebration of Latin sounds that will set the stage for the journey to follow. Be swept away by the sultry tones of John Williams’ Escapades, performed by the talented Vicki Watson on alto saxophone. Dominic Irving takes the spotlight for a performance of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue—a timeless blend of classical and jazz that captures the spirit of New York City. Leonard Bernstein’s lively Mambo from West Side Story, is guaranteed to fill the hall with infectious energy. Rosie Bennet enchants with the evocative melodies of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, offering a rich Spanish flavour that lingers in the air. The evening concludes with Arturo Márquez’s Danzon No. 2, a piece that pulses with life and captures the essence of Latin American dance.
Rosie Bennet, a classical guitarist from London, started playing guitar at 7 years old. She received her early musical education at The Yehudi Menuhin School of Music and went on to study with Zoran Dukic (The Hague, NL), Johan Fostier (Tilburg, NL), Rene Izquierdo (Milwaukee, USA) and Raphaella Smits (Leuven, BE). Rosie has since been fortunate to performed in festivals all over Europe and collaborate with a lot of incredible musicians including a recent performance with Brian May.
International performer, Vicki Watson, is a UK-based saxophonist and woodwind artist who has built a flourishing career playing feel-good music that radiates positivity and joy. Vicki’s passion for music, versatility as a performer, and ability to connect with audiences make her a standout talent, whether she’s dazzling on stage, collaborating with other artists, or creating unique musical experiences as a DJ and electronic music producer.
Dominic Irving, pianist & composer, graduated from London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2009 with a 1st-class BMus Honours degree before completing an MA in Composition of Music for Film and Television (MA-FTV) at Bristol University. An accomplished music copyist, who has won a host of composition prizes, Dominic has also produced scores for projects involving the BBC Proms, the London Mozart Players, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Four, and the composers Diana Burrell and Stephen Montague.

The Fulltone Orchestra, founded by Musical Director Anthony Brown in 2017, features 65 exceptional musicians from the South West who perform iconic music across genres, from awe-inspiring classical masterpieces to thrilling contemporary works. Anthony created the orchestra to bring to life his dream of performing powerful and genre-defying symphonic music. With a rich background in musical theatre direction, Anthony’s approach to orchestral music is as dynamic and vibrant as his personality, ensuring each Fulltone concert is a one-of-a-kind experience.
