‘New Year, Same Old You’ with Audrey Stephenson at Soul Spa
11 February @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Soul Spa, 2 Hetling Court
Duration: 4 hours
Apparently, resolutions are dead…
After decades of New Year Resolutions that haven’t been realised, most people have given up. There isn’t as much talk about new year resolutions – instead we do dry January, in an attempt to address some of the overindulgence of the previous year’s end. It feels more attainable. But it doesn’t necessarily move us forward.
We really don’t need to throw the baby out with the bath water. We can capitalise on our very human need to cultivate change and flex the muscles of transformation, and we can learn how to keep moving in the direction we want to go. The reality is that most resolutions, or goals, don’t work, not because it’s useless to have a goal, not because we can’t attain what we want, rather it comes down to the reality that we simply don’t know how.
Most of us make resolutions or set goals from a place of lack and shame – I need to do this because I’m not enough, I need to achieve that because if I don’t, I’ll never get married/be safe/be loveable. As we all know, this doesn’t work. We start out with the best of intentions and then…crash. And when we crash we beat ourselves up and we lose faith in the idea that we have the power to make small changes, much less outrageous changes.
In this half day seminar Audrey is going to explore why resolutions often don’t last past February and discover how to consistently move in the direction you want to go, build your trust in yourself and start leaning into the fears that hold you back. You will leave with a better understanding of what stops you and how to manage, challenge and go beyond your limiting beliefs.
This is a stand alone workshop. Participants of this workshop can use this workshop as a deductible deposit securing their place should they choose to join the year long series programme New Year, Same Old You.
