Phenomenal Women 2023 – Anita Bhagwandas

The next in the 2023 series features Anita Bhagwandas. Anita is a multi-award winning freelance journalist, broadcaster and speaker. She is a beauty columnist with The Guardian’s Saturday magazine, Beauty Director at Conde Nast Traveller and writes for a number of titles including Glamour, Allure, Stylist and many more. She has just written her debut non-fiction book called UGLY, where she uncovers where beauty standards started, unpicks why they have been perpetuated and unmasks how they’re still being upheld.
As a freelance journalist she worked alongside trend forecasting agencies like The Future Laboratory/LSN Global to predict future trends in the world of beauty and wellness. Anita has also written articles for Refinery 29, Cosmopolitan, The Guardian and many more. She has also appeared on BBC’s Woman’s Hour, BBC’s Asian Network and ITV’s This Morning talking about all things race, beauty and wellness.
