Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son, a Bath Arts Collective Event

13 March @ 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

Someone's Daughter, Someone's Son

Now a successful filmmaker, Lorna Tucker (Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist; Amà) was once a teenage runaway sleeping rough on the streets of London. For this frank, forceful and inspiring documentary called ‘Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son’, she returns to her former haunts and speaks to current and former homeless people about why, 25 years later, record numbers of people are still reduced to living on Britain’s streets.

As you hear the life stories of extraordinary individuals and learn how the system has both aided and failed them, this raw, intimate and unforgettable film asks:

  • Why hasn’t public policy placed this issue firmly in the past?
  • How can we help?
  • And what contribution can those with experience of homelessness make to putting effective solutions in place?

“A tender reminder that homelessness should not be considered an inevitable part of modern life.”Adam Buxton

This event is in partnership with FilmBath and Julian House as part of the Curious Minds Festival. After the screening, the Bath Art Collective are pleased to welcome staff and clients of Julian House to talk about the issues in the film and how you can help.
