Something of the night – with Musicke in the Ayre

Early music specialists Musicke in the Ayre explore the delights (and the despair) of the dark of night, illuminated by early Baroque gems from England, France and Italy. Lutenist Din Ghani will accompany sopranos Jane Hunt and Alysha Paterson in a programme of wide-ranging styles from the lute songs of Dowland to operatic arias by Carissimi and Handel, not to mention some delightful airs from the court of Louis XIV. Refreshments available before and after the hour-long performance.
