The Seasonal Voice – a Bard of Bath fundraiser

Join Julian House in the enchanting green and community spaces of Bath for the first in a magical series of events that celebrate the changing seasons and the power of shared voices. Hosted by the current Bard of Bath (and founder of The Wisdom Space), Michelle Hawkins-Collins, this Seasonal Voice Series invites you to immerse yourself in the bardic arts through song, spoken word poetry, and storytelling. Together, you’ll illuminate the voices of those often unheard in our society.
* Where: Meet at The Temple of Minerva at 9.45am (we’ll find a tree nearby). Look out for Michelle in her Bardic Robe and staff
* How much: donations are welcomed of any size and all donations will go to Julian House
Event Highlights:
– Share Your Voice: Julian House warmly welcome original contributions from local poets, songwriters, and storytellers. This is your opportunity to shine and share your creativity with our vibrant community! (Note: all slots for The Summer Solstice are now taken)
-Guided Performances: Experience structured performances led by Michelle Hawkins-Collins alongside talented local artists including former Bards of Bath. We also welcome Emily Heuvel, founder of Birch Tree Choir, who will guide us in warming up our voices and harmonising together with seasonal songs.
Community Impact:
Proceeds from these events will be donated to local organisations that support those with less of a voice in mainstream society, including asylum seekers and individuals experiencing homelessness in Bath. The proceeds of our Summer Solstice event will go to Julian House – a charity providing life-changing and life-saving support for people who are vulnerable or at-risk of homelessness across the South West of England.
Whether you choose to perform or simply enjoy the performances, we invite you to be part of this enriching experience! All ages are welcome—no experience or singing ability is required. We celebrate the beauty of diversity and the richness of every voice!
