In March 2020, Alistair Barrie was preparing to bring a new show about the state of the world and middle-aged fatherhood to Bath Comedy Festival before taking it to the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.
As you may be aware, something else rather got in the way. Not only did the world get itself into more of a state than he could ever have envisaged, Alistair very suddenly found himself both unemployed and in charge of a three- and a one-year-old. Or perhaps the other way round.
As a result, the show he is bringing to the 2021 Permission To Laugh Festival is considerably grumpier than it might have been. Hopefully that’s an improvement, but who knows? I mean, let’s face it – he hasn’t been to work for 18 months. Still, at least it gets him out of the house, and for that he is eternally grateful.
This event is part of Bath Comedy Festival’s Permission To Laugh.
