For National Hate Crime Awareness Week, the Bath Neighbourhood Policing Team are teaming up with Bath Romans Wheelchair Basketball Club, The University of Bath Basketball Society and SARI to organise a free Wheelchair Basketball Session on Sunday 16th October!

The event is open to all comers regardless of age, ability or experience and will be completely free of charge.

As part of our National Hate Crime Awareness Week activities we are engaging with the parts of our community most at risk of experiencing Hate Crime. For this event representatives from your Neighbourhood Policing Team and from SARI will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on what Hate Crime is, how to report it, and what services exist to support you. Members of the Bath Romans and Bath University Wheelchair Basketball Teams will also be in attendance to show you how to play this exciting Paralympic Sport!

Whether you consider yourself to have a disability, or perhaps you are a friend, family member, or carer of someone who does, we hope this event will be a fun and valuable opportunity to try a new sport, meet members of the disabled community, meet your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, and learn a little about Hate Crime.
Sports kit is advisable but not essential, and there will be plenty of sports wheelchairs available. Light refreshment will also be provided but we recommend bringing a personal water bottle.
