Had it not been for war with France in 1793, Grosvenor Gardens, which opened that year, might have been the success it deserved to be. Designed and built on a scale never before seen in Bath, it contained features that would be copied in Sydney Gardens. Yet within ten years, it closed.

Join Kirsten Elliott outside the central house of Grosvenor Place to follow a zigzag path across the site, returning along the river bank, to discover its lost delights.
