Filmbath Festival 2023 – All Of Us Strangers

Any film starring Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Clare Foy and Jamie Bell is going to make us sit up and pay attention. The next ear-pricking item is the fact that the director is Andrew Haigh, whose previous films – LeWeekend 45 Years and Lean On Pete – have been such magnificent movies. Finally, the third fascinating ingredient is the genre Haigh has chosen – a fantasy romance.

Andrew Scott plays a screenwriter who meets his peculiar neighbour (Paul Mescal), and is subsequently pulled back to his childhood home where his long-dead parents (Clare Foy and Jamie Bell), are alive and well and looking the same age as they were when they were killed.

It’s as intriguing a premise as we’ve come across in years and about as much as we can tell you.
