From Ferrara with love, with Musicke in the Ayre

Join local early music specialists Musicke in the Ayre for a cup of tea and some gorgeous music from the early Italian Baroque. They’ll be exploring the legacy of the ground-breaking Concerto delle donne, an all-female professional musical ensemble created by the Este court of Ferrara. Musicke in the Ayre’s three sopranos (Maria Danishvar, Philippa Neaverson, Jane Hunt) will blend their voices in various combinations, accompanied by Din Ghani on plucked period instruments of his own making. They’ll be performing music by some of the master composers of the period, music that makes the most of their combined voices.
Refreshments will be available before and after the hour-long concert.
