The Royal Crescent in Bath is a world-renowned example of Georgian architecture and one of the most celebrated landmarks in the city. Designed by architect John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774, this sweeping crescent of 30 Grade I listed terrace houses is among the greatest examples of Georgian architecture in the United Kingdom. The 500-foot-long crescent features 114 Ionic columns on the first floor beneath a Palladian-style entablature, forming a facade so architecturally significant that it stands as a key part of Bath’s UNESCO World Heritage status. Arranged around a perfect lawn overlooking Royal Victoria Park, the Crescent offers stunning views across the city and beyond, and remains largely unchanged since it was built, giving visitors today the same striking impression it made on Georgian society over 250 years ago. One of the most photographed and visited locations in the world, it has hosted incredible events over the years from open-air concerts to two nights with Robbie Williams in June 2025, cementing its place not just as a historic treasure, but as a living, breathing part of Bath’s cultural life today
