Anne Brontë: The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
1 November @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, a novel by Anne Brontë, published in 1848, is the most shocking of the novels published by the Brontë sisters, as it contravened the social conventions of the 19th century. It had initial success, but Charlotte Brontë prevented it being immediately reprinted.
The novel’s themes of domestic abuse and the powerlessness of women have led to it being described as the first feminist novel and the book now enjoys a growing popularity.
