Keeping Bath Beautiful

Planting

We hold regular planting and volunteering days, and one of the areas we help with is the planting of the floral urns along the Parade Gardens wall.

With sponsorship arranged by Buro Happold, 12 businesses contributed to the cost of the plants, and volunteers have helped plant them. The Bath BID team and Bath in Bloom volunteers were joined by staff from the Apex Hotel, Stride Treglown, DKA Architects, Transform Communications, Bath BID Welcome Ambassadors and a team of seven from McDonalds.

We planted up 26 stone urns with Geraniums and Fountain Grass, as well as tidying up and planting 12 planters in Union Passage.

Thank you to everyone who took part and if you would like to get involved in future projects get in touch with miriam.zaccarelli@bathbid.co.uk.

Litter-Picking

There are also litter picking opportunities, which the Francis Hotel, Abbey Hotel and the DoubleTree By Hilton have supported, and tidying up benches and street furniture around the city, which The Apex Hotel have helped with.

Bath in Bloom volunteers and BID staff joined the team at the Francis Hotel for a litter pick in May

Painting

Last year a team from The Apex Hotel arrived at 7.30am to paint the benches by the Abbey, as part of the Bench refurbishing project carried out by Bath BID.

Next Tidy Day

Thank you for everyone’s help in making Bath even more beautiful before the Britain in Bloom judging dates. To give the city some extra sparkle before judging, we will be holding litter picks and tidy up days.
