Bath will be filled with family friendly festivities this Christmas. From the magical Bath Christmas Light Trail and the bustling Christmas market to the return of lots of family favourites, there is plenty for the whole clan to enjoy this festive season…

Discover Magical Illuminations

Some of Bath’s most iconic streets and buildings will be brought to life with magical illuminations throughout the festive period, as part of the Bath Christmas Light Trail.

Although there will not be an official countdown to Christmas in Bath this year, the lights will come on on the 15th November, where you and your family are invited to get some early shopping done and enjoy the rainbow illuminations in Milsom Street, with some Bath Carnival characters attending to help celebrate the start of the festive season in Bath.


MARVELLOUS MOUSE TRAIL – FREE WITH MUSEUM ENTRY

18 November @ 10:00 am – 31 December @ 4:30 pmA family of country mice come to visit Bath each Christmas, and this year they’ve chosen to stay at No.1 Royal Crescent again! Can you find their hiding places as you make your way around the Museum?

This self-led activity is free with Museum entry between 18 November to 31 December. (Children enter for free with a paying adult). Suitable for ages 5+. Find out more here.

From 23rd November to 10th December Bath Christmas market is back! All the familiar favourite festive sights and smells are a perfect way to get you feeling in the mood for some quality time with your families and friends this year.

A world of enchantment, magic and good cheer awaits you at the American Museum & Gardens. In December, visit our Winter Wonderland during the day for a festive, hand-crafted, Christmas experience. The Georgian Manor House will be festooned with hundreds of beautiful, artisan decorations, with a stunning 18-foot Nordmann fir tree from Langford Lakes taking pride of place in Central Hall. Dressed with 9000 twinkling lights and unique ornaments, a visit to the classic tree is lovely way to get in touch with real Christmas spirit and take some family photos. Visitors can keep warm with seasonal drinks and a banquet of festive treats.

Get Your Skates On

After a year away, Bath on Ice is back! Head to Royal Victoria Park from 17th November to 3rd January for some festive fun. Bath on Ice’s Moguls Bar will be serving delicious food, spicy mulled wine and hot chocolate; ideal to warm you up after a spin around the rink.

Combine a trip to Bath on Ice with a round of Glow Golf. The illuminated 18-hole adventure golf course has become a staple of the city’s winter calendar, with couples, families and friends challenging each other to a round with glow-in-the-dark golf balls.

Be Wowed by Glittering Performances

Christmas returns to the Theatre Royal Bath in style this year, with a range of shows and events for all ages running through December and January. With a range of shows from the magical family pantomime Sleeping Beauty to Midnight Mole, the heart-warming, moon-dancing puppet adventure from the creators of Snow Mouse the Theatre Royal Bath offers plenty of family fun and festive frivolity during December to early January.

CHRISTMAS FAMILY FUN: MAKE A MASQUERADE MASK

Get creative this festive season and celebrate Christmas like a Georgian. Make your own masquerade mask from a paper plate – perfect for a Twelfth Night ball!
