Spot the Jane Austen silhouettes on the wooden planters along Walcot Street, containing Jane Austen pinks (with thanks to Walcot Street Traders, Waitrose & AUK honey for donations for the flowers.) Installed and maintained by the volunteers from Wild Walcot, these are supported with sponsorship from Walcot Street businesses.
  3. Thomas Fortin Menswear and The Bath Hat Company have created Regency window displays to tie in with Austen 250.
  4. Coopers Home Appliances and Graham and Greene are taking part in the city wide Jane Austen Trail, with a character in their window.
  5. Bath Botanics Gin Distillery are offering a bespoke Jane Austen Shrub.
  6. Discover Jane Austen’s aunt’s house at No 1, The Paragon. Jane Austen’s first entrance into Bath was facilitated by a visit to her Uncle and Aunt, James and Jane Leigh-Perrot. Wealthy and childless, Uncle James was the older brother of Cassandra Leigh Austen, Jane Austen’s mother, and welcomed Jane and her mother to Bath.
  7. Bath Aqua Glass are Celebrating Jane Austen with a beautiful pendant or earring set made and hand-painted in their studio here in Bath. Using a silhouette of Jane Austen made whilst she lived in Bath, one of only two portraits known to be made of her in her own lifetime. Her paper portrait now rendered in glass makes the perfect memento to celebrate her 250th year as you visit the beautiful city of Bath.
  8. Visit Meticulous Ink where you’ll find Jane Austen inspired letterpress prints and calligraphy equipment to scribe your very own love letter.
  9. Visit St Swithin’s Church. In 1764 Jane Austen’s father George Austen was married to Cassandra Leigh at St Swithin’s Church Bath. Copies of the marriage certificate can be bought from Bath Aqua Glass in Walcot Street, with proceeds to Wild Walcot bringing nature into the city.
