Former journalist turned author, Matt Cain, joins bestselling novelist Freya North, for a chat about love in literature, and a love of literature. Matt’s third novel One Love is a joyous story about 20 years of love, shared adventures and lost dreams, while Freya North’s novel, The Unfinished Business of Eadie Brown is a beautifully written tale about growing up, letting go and moving on  Hosted by author, journalist and broadcaster Alexandra Heminsley, this feel-good event will explore the joy of writing romances and the importance of friendships.

Matt Cain is an author, leading commentator on LGBT+ issues, and a former journalist. For the past two years he has been a presenter for Virgin Radio Pride, was Channel 4’s first Culture Editor, Editor In Chief of Attitude magazine, and has judged the Costa Prize, the Polari Prize and the South Bank Sky Arts Awards. He won Diversity in Media’s Journalist Of the Year award in 2017 and is an ambassador for Manchester Pride and the Albert Kennedy Trust, plus a patron of LGBT+ History Month. Born in Bury and brought up in Bolton, he now lives in London.

Freya North is one of the UK’s bestselling writers. Her first novel, Sally, was published to great acclaim while she was still in her twenties. Her subsequent books have all been bestsellers. In 2008 Freya North won the RNA Book of the Year award with Pillow Talk. Across all books and formats, Freya North has sold over two millions books to date.
