Planning the ultimate staff Christmas party?

Whether you’re after spine-tingling thrills or festive feasting, Bath has the perfect spot to celebrate the season with your team. For something truly unforgettable, why not host your bash at the House of Frankenstein? Or prefer something a little more classic? Indulge in a stylish soiree with mouthwatering food and cocktails at The Bird or raise a glass in the vibrant atmosphere of Slug and Lettuce. Click the link below to explore your perfect party venue!

Begin your adventure with a dash of nostalgia. Choose between two enchanting experiences:

  • Father Christmas at No.1 Royal Crescent: Step into a beautifully preserved Georgian townhouse, where Father Christmas awaits, ready to read a Christmas story to the children and give them a gift.
  • Father Christmas Grotto at The Holburne Museum: much more than your typical grotto, the experience offers a 20-minute immersive performance where children and grown-ups help the elves wake Father Christmas and discover how they’re planning to make this the best Christmas ever.

Either way, you’ll be greeted with warmth, wonder, and a few cheeky elves.

Illuminated Bath

This festive season, Bath Christmas Market and Bath BID have sprinkled a little extra sparkle across the city centre with spectacular lighting displays in some of Bath’s most iconic streets. From twinkling alleyways to grand, glowing facades, the city is dressed to impress – and it’s totally Insta-worthy!

Exhibitions

Herschel Museum of Astronomy

4th April 2025 – 5th January 2026

Capturing the Cosmos: Astrophotography by the Bath Astronomers

The exhibition will allow visitors to compare drawings William Herschel and his son, John, made of observations from their telescope to photographs of the same celestial objects taken today. This series of digital reproductions of historic drawings, kindly provided by the Royal Astronomical Society and Royal Society, demonstrates the contrast between how observations would have been recorded over 200 years ago and how we capture them now.

The Holburne Museum

11th September – 11th January 2026

Illustrating Austen

In the 250th anniversary year of Jane Austen’s birth, our autumn display will offer audiences the chance to see the artwork behind their favourite Austen novels.

Centring around Austen’s stories and the characters she created, Illustrating Austen will demonstrate how our favourite characters came to life on the page and have evolved through the years, reflecting the changing times and new audiences.

3rd October – 11th January 2026
